After the most energetic audition filled with some of Brian Mays best guitar work, I controversially reached the semi-finals at Hammersmith Apollo on BGT series 17 with my air guitar act where I was joined by 16 backing dancers, huge guitar amps props, a trampoine, a rising platform and pyro in front of millions of viewers at home.
I worked alongside the producers to put on the biggest air guitar performance in history.
'It was so stupid, it was brilliant' , 'I love acts like that' - Simon Cowell
'Your bottom looks lovely' - Amanda Holden
'Divine Madness!' , 'A glam rock party gone demented' - Bruno Tonioli
I was a mystery guest on the morning show, where I performed, taught Chris, Tom and Alasdair some moves and spoke about The Air Guitar World Championships in Finland.
I appeared on Comedy Central's show Out Of Order, a new comedy panel show hosted by Rosie Jones as she pits two teams of comedians captained by Katherine & Judi against each other to see who has the best judgement by placing personalities in the correct order in a series of revealing categories such as, ‘Who earns the most?’ and ‘Who’s had the most one-night stands?’
Oti Mabuse presents the dating show that harnesses the power of song to help people find an ideal partner. Singletons will each be serenaded on the show's balcony by by up to four hidden singers, they choose one to perform a duet with.
I was approached to appear on Spains talent search show, Got Talent Espana with my air guitar act. For this appearance I put together a new routine involving a pull off outfit and a Guns N Roses song, despite the language barrier, I was super pleased with my heavily featured segment, and had some really funny banter with the judges and presenter. As perhaps expected, I wasn't put forward through to the next round but my performance has been viewed by millions of people, and hopefully brought much joy to their faces.
After being asked to appear on the UK's singer searching program to audition for a spot in a boy band, I knew I wasn't typical boy band material so I decided to double down on my rockstar aesthetic. I showed up to Simon Cowell's office, shirtless with leopard print bandana to perform a Van Halen song in front of Simon, Nicole Scherzinger and a few other industry specialists.
Despite most of my performance being cut, I was pleased with my introduction and b-roll being heavily featured in all the promotion for the show, even making headlines as 'Simon Cowell's worst nightmare!' (and I'm pretty sure Nicole had a crush on me too).
YolanDa's Band Jam is a show hosted by musician YolanDa Brown. The programmes goal is to inspire children to pick up instruments as music and art are often underfunded and under appreciated in the education system. I was asked to present a cut-away section of their show, teaching a group of children to air guitar. We played to both AC/DC and The Darkness while the kids dressed up in rockstar outfits, with leopard print and wigs, and performed a routine alongside me!
My first major TV appearance came just after I won The Air Guitar Championships. Before flying out to Finland, ITV asked me to appear on their morning show to teach presenters Kate Garraway, Jeremy Kyle and Richard Arnold (dressed up as Gene Simmons) some of my winning moves.
This evolved into absolute chaos with the smoke machine letting off too much smoke and Jeremy Kyle tearing his suit while we rocked out to Bon Jovi. Weather girl, Lauren Tobin even got involved showing off some impressive leg-guitar moves!
